U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict will probably require territorial compromises, arguing that “Ukraine is not going to evict every Russian, and Russia is not going to Kyiv.” He added that any settlement must be accompanied by robust security guarantees and sustained Western military support so that Ukraine remains, in his words, “the most lethal army in Europe.” Graham, a long-time foreign-policy hawk, endorsed President Donald Trump’s plan to meet Vladimir Putin in Alaska next week, expressing confidence the president will negotiate “an honorable” resolution.
