Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said the company does not plan to build the new six-seat version of its Model Y crossover in the United States until the end of 2026, delaying domestic production of the variant by roughly two years. The six-seater was introduced in China earlier this year, but Musk wrote on social media that U.S. manufacturing could be abandoned altogether if the market adopts fully autonomous driving more quickly than expected, reducing demand for additional seating configurations.
