Bangladesh’s Directorate General of Health Services said two people died from Covid-19 and seven new infections were confirmed in the 24 hours to Saturday morning. The latest bulletin raises the national death toll to 29,521 and the cumulative case count to 2,052,080 since the pandemic began. Laboratories examined 535 samples during the period, yielding a daily positivity rate of 3.87%. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.04%, while the fatality rate remains 1.44% on detected cases, the agency added. Across the border in India, Manipur’s health department reported 13 fresh Covid-19 cases in the past day, taking the state’s total to 230. Of these, 118 are active and 112 patients have completed home isolation.
