New York City police are investigating a triple stabbing that left one man dead and two others wounded in the South Jamaica section of Queens early Saturday. Officers responded to a 1:50 a.m. 911 call reporting an assault at Sutphin Boulevard and 112th Avenue, where a large crowd had gathered to cap Independence Day festivities. According to the NYPD, a 25-year-old man suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest. Another 25-year-old was stabbed in the ribs, and a 24-year-old was slashed in the abdomen; both were admitted to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition. Detectives have made no arrests and are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues.
