Early price moves show Amazon leaning heavily on portable energy and data-storage hardware to drive traffic during the mid-summer shopping event. Portable power suppliers are among the biggest beneficiaries. Bluetti’s newly launched Elite 100 V2 portable station has debuted at $399—half its usual list price, with an extra 5 % discount for voucher users—while the larger Elite 200 V2, rated at 2,073 Wh and 2,600 W, has fallen 59 % to $699. Competing offers include Anker’s 1,800 W Solix units and a Jackery 1,500 W model at undisclosed but record-low levels, and a brace of high-capacity power banks topping 56,800 mAh marked down by as much as 85 %. Data storage is seeing comparable markdowns. A 20 TB Western Digital external drive is selling for roughly one cent per gigabyte, Seagate’s Ultra Compact 1 TB portable SSD has hit an all-time low of $80, and Samsung’s 4 TB T7 portable SSD is now $218 after a 37 % reduction. Samsung’s newer T9 4 TB unit and Sandisk’s Extreme Pro external SSD have also slid to fresh lows, with the latter $240—about $100 below its recent street price. Internal solid-state drives are equally aggressive: Crucial’s 4 TB P310 PCIe Gen4 SSD is $199.99 for Prime members in the United States, while the 4 TB P3 Plus has dropped to €221 in France, a €41 cut. With Amazon extending Prime Day’s duration and posting headline discounts of up to 85 %, analysts will watch whether the deeper, longer sale translates into higher volumes in categories that have seen softer demand and excess inventory over the past year.
