Amazon’s Prime Day shopping event, running 8–11 July, has pushed prices for smart home cleaning and grooming gadgets to their lowest levels on record, signaling intensified competition among appliance makers eager to spur mid-year sales. Robot-vacuum brands led the markdowns. Ecovacs cut the Deebot T30S to $500 from $1,000 and trimmed the Deebot X8 Pro Omni by $450 to $949.99. Rival Narwal reduced its newly launched Freo Z10 by $450 to $649.99 and the mid-range Freo Pro to $359.99, nearly half its usual price. Roborock’s QV 35A fell to €399.99, a 23 percent discount, while other Ecovacs models advertised savings of up to 52 percent. The price war extended beyond floor care. Dyson’s Airwrap multi-styler dropped $100 to a record-low $400 and the Supersonic hair dryer was trimmed 20 percent. Budget offerings also plunged, with Eureka’s AirSpeed upright vacuum selling for $45—36 percent below its $70 list—alongside all-time-low prices for select Bissell, Shark and Roomba units. Prime Day, which Amazon positions as a mid-year counterpart to Black Friday, is increasingly setting reference pricing for consumer electronics. Analysts say the steep discounts on higher-ticket smart appliances suggest manufacturers are using the event to clear inventory and lure consumers who have delayed discretionary purchases amid stubborn inflation.
