Residents of the Salitre and Montevideo neighborhoods in western Bogotá have staged protests against the relocation of more than 1,000 indigenous Emberá people to a site managed by the Instituto Distrital de Participación y Acción Comunal (IDPAC). The demonstrations included blocking Calle 22 and the exit for intermunicipal buses at the local terminal, causing disruptions. The Bogotá city authorities have responded by stating that the relocation aims to improve living conditions for the Emberá community. Meanwhile, in the southern locality of Usme, protests and marches have caused significant traffic congestion. These demonstrations are in response to a reported case of abuse involving a four-year-old girl at a local school. The protests at the Portal Usme have lasted for several hours, forcing many residents to walk due to the blockage of the transport hub.
