Bradenton police have arrested three boys, ages 11, 12 and 14, after a flare gun they allegedly discharged from the Green Bridge on Monday afternoon ignited a 45-foot yacht moored at Twin Dolphin Marina. Witnesses placed simultaneous 911 calls at about 1:30 p.m., and city CCTV footage later reviewed by detectives showed the youths carrying flare guns shortly before and after flames erupted. Fire crews from the Bradenton Fire Department contained the blaze within minutes, but the vessel sustained significant damage. No injuries were reported, and a section of the Riverwalk pedestrian path that had been closed during the response reopened around 4 p.m. The 14-year-old faces first-degree arson, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a minor, and discharging a firearm in public. The younger boys are charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and discharging a firearm in public. All three were booked into the Manatee Juvenile Detention Center as the investigation continues.
