Former Tremonton City Fire Chief Ned “Brady” Hansen has been charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual abuse of a child, deepening a case that already includes eight counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor filed in March. The new charge was lodged on 2 July in Box Elder County after an FBI investigation identified a girl, described in court documents as younger than 10, who told her parents she had been abused. According to the filings, the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force reviewed Hansen’s electronic devices and social-media accounts, uncovering messages in which he allegedly described past abuse of the victim and discussed child sexual exploitation with others. Investigators say the conduct occurred between 1 May 2024 and 27 January 2025, when a search warrant was served at Hansen’s home. The case was transferred to federal agents because of links prosecutors say they discovered between Hansen and former Utah judge Kevin Christensen, who is also under investigation for child-sex-related offenses. Hansen, who resigned as fire chief following his January arrest, remains in custody while the Davis County Attorney’s Office considers additional charges.
