The Los Angeles Police Department said Tuesday it has arrested four teenagers in connection with a 25 June break-in at a Los Feliz property widely reported to belong to actor Brad Pitt. The suspects—two 18-year-old men and two boys aged 17 and 16—were taken into custody last week and are expected to be referred to the Los Angeles County district attorney for charging. Investigators believe the quartet are members of a street gang responsible for a series of residential burglaries across Southern California. Detectives recovered stolen items during searches of the suspects’ homes but have not detailed what was taken from Pitt’s residence. Police said the crew appeared to target affluent neighbourhoods rather than the Oscar-winning actor specifically. Security footage reviewed by officers indicates three masked intruders scaled a fence, smashed a front-facing window and “ransacked” the Los Feliz house shortly after 10:30 p.m. on 25 June. Pitt, who purchased the property in 2023, was overseas promoting his upcoming racing film “F1” at the time, and no injuries were reported. The incident is the latest in a run of high-profile burglaries in Los Angeles involving the homes of celebrities and professional athletes, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and LAFC forward Olivier Giroud. Police have urged public figures—and anyone sharing travel plans online—to tighten security and limit real-time social-media posts that can tip off would-be thieves.
