Four people were fatally shot on Friday morning at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana, according to the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation. The gunfire erupted around 10:30 a.m. local time, and authorities secured the scene shortly afterward. Investigators said they know the identity of the suspected shooter, who remains armed, dangerous and at large. Local law-enforcement officials have asked residents to stay indoors and keep their doors locked while the search continues. Governor Greg Gianforte said he is closely monitoring the incident, and Representative Ryan Zinke urged constituents to shelter in place. The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and multiple county sheriff’s offices are assisting the state investigation.
