A 36-year-old man, identified as Jonathan Robalino, was arrested in Brooklyn for attempting to kidnap a 6-year-old boy near Coney Island during the Fourth of July weekend. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. when Robalino grabbed the child from a public sidewalk as the boy momentarily fell behind his parents. Video footage shows the man picking up the boy and throwing him to the ground while fleeing. The child's parents and bystanders quickly intervened, chasing and tackling Robalino, preventing the abduction. The boy was not seriously injured in the incident. The New York Police Department charged Robalino following the attempted kidnapping, which has been widely circulated in video form and reported by multiple news outlets.
