A 17-year-old boy was arrested after opening fire in New York City’s Times Square early Saturday, wounding three people, the New York Police Department said. The shooting occurred at roughly 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, a busy tourist corridor in Midtown Manhattan. An 18-year-old woman sustained a graze wound to the neck, while a 19-year-old man and a 65-year-old man were struck in the legs. All three were taken to Bellevue Hospital and are in stable condition. Detectives recovered a handgun at the scene and said the gunfire followed a verbal altercation involving one of the victims. The teenager remained in custody Saturday afternoon as investigators examined surveillance video and interviewed witnesses.
