The LA Press Club's SoCal Journalism Awards celebrated several media outlets and journalists for their outstanding work. Variety secured eight first-place wins, including Entertainment Journalist of the Year for Brent Lang. The Hollywood Reporter (THR) won Best Website and Print Journalist of the Year, along with a total of 11 first-place awards, the highest number received by any publication. TheWrap earned three first-place awards, including top prizes in Entertainment Feature and TV/Radio for their investigation into the troubles at TCM, and recognition in five other categories. IndieWire's Veronica Flores and Vincent Perella were honored for Best Use of Social Media. Additionally, Steph won three awards for her work on Uvalde stories, including first place in Human Interest Feature (TV) and Soft News Feature (Online). Elex Michaelson, along with Debbie Kim and Nick Greitzer, were honored for reporting on Gavin Newsom and Prop. 1.
