Egypt's Foreign Ministry has firmly rejected reports that it or other countries have agreed to receive displaced Palestinians from Gaza, condemning such plans as a historical injustice with no moral or legal basis. Egypt stated it will neither accept nor participate in the displacement, warning that it would lead to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati emphasized Egypt's continued support for the Palestinian people, calling on Israel to protect civilians and end its policy of starvation in Gaza. He announced Egypt's readiness to flood Gaza with humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, contingent on Israel lifting restrictions and reopening the Rafah crossing, which Israel currently controls and has damaged. Egypt is committed to pursuing all possible avenues to achieve a just peace and supports reempowering the Palestinian Authority in Gaza alongside its role in the West Bank to implement the Arab-Islamic reconstruction plan for the sector. Meanwhile, Hamas has accepted a ceasefire proposal involving a 60-day halt to military actions, a plan mediated by Egypt and other parties. The proposal now awaits Israel's response amid internal pressures, including opposition from Israeli far-right factions and demands from families of hostages held by Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that a final decision regarding Hamas is underway, affirming that no hostage will be left behind. Egypt has also expressed willingness to join a peacekeeping force in Gaza following the ceasefire agreement. Additionally, Egypt has called on the Dutch government to provide security protection for its diplomatic mission in The Hague after protests and an alleged attack on the Egyptian embassy building.
