LAS IMPORTACIONES DE TRIGO UCRANIANO DE LA UE HAN AUMENTADO HASTA LOS 1,3 MILLONES DE TONELADAS: ALTO FUNCIONARIO DE LA UE
The European Union has expanded economic links with Ukraine on two fronts, according to senior officials in Brussels and Kyiv. The bloc raised the ceiling on electricity it can import from Ukraine to 900 megawatt hours, a 38.5% increase that will apply until at least 1 August and be reviewed monthly. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said the higher limit will help balance the domestic grid and generate revenue to repair power infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks. Separately, EU officials said purchases of Ukrainian wheat reached 1.3 million tons, underscoring Kyiv’s growing role in the bloc’s food supply after Russia’s invasion disrupted Black Sea trade routes. The EU-Ukraine trade accord also contains a clause that allows any single member state to trigger safeguard measures if imports threaten local farmers, the officials added.
