#Wimbledon|😬 TERRIBLE !
Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak eliminated Arthur Rinderknech 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-6(6) in the Wimbledon third round on Friday, securing a place in the tournament’s second week for the first time in his career. Rinderknech, ranked No. 72, was the last French competitor in either singles draw. His defeat follows earlier exits the same day by Gaël Monfils, Adrian Mannarino and Diane Parry, leaving France without a singles representative before the round-of-16 for the third straight year at the All England Club. The loss capped a demanding stretch for Rinderknech, who had spent more than eight and a half hours on court over the previous two rounds and was appearing for a fifth consecutive day after his five-set upset of world No. 3 Alexander Zverev and another five-setter against Cristian Garin. Majchrzak, who dispatched former finalist Matteo Berrettini in the opening round, will face either Portugal’s Nuno Borges or Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the last 16 as he continues a breakthrough run on grass.
