Millionen kennen sie als freche Arzthelferin aus der Serie „Praxis Bülowbogen“: Die Berliner Schauspielerin Anita Kupsch ist im Alter von 85 Jahren gestorben. https://t.co/MtFXdHAw0c
German television and stage veteran Anita Kupsch died in Berlin on 3 July at the age of 85, her husband Klaus-Detlef Krahn told the German Press Agency. Kupsch became a household name as the outspoken medical assistant Gabi Köhler in the ARD prime-time series “Praxis Bülowbogen,” appearing from 1987 to 1996 alongside Günter Pfitzmann. Born in 1940, the Berlin native amassed almost 100 screen credits and remained active until 2017. She had been living in a care facility and was recently suffering from advanced dementia. Earlier in the week, the death of fellow Berlin actress Monika Hansen was announced by her daughter, performer Meret Becker. Hansen, who was 83, appeared in films by Wim Wenders and Margarethe von Trotta and held long-running engagements at leading German theatres. Her career spanned more than six decades and included television work such as “Polizeiruf 110.” The back-to-back losses remove two distinct voices from German film and theatre: Kupsch, celebrated for popular television roles and her rapid Berlin wit, and Hansen, revered for her art-house film work and stage presence.
