Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav celebrated his 52nd birthday on July 1, 2025, with party workers and supporters gathering across multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Amethi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. The celebrations included the distribution of bicycles, scooters, and sarees to supporters. Following the birthday events, on July 3, Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated the Samajwadi Party's new residence and office complex in Azamgarh, named PDA Bhawan, which he described as a central hub for party leaders and workers in the Purvanchal region. During a public rally at the new office, Yadav emphasized the importance of the location for party strategy and outreach. He also addressed the issue of the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC), expressing the party's interest in purchasing it if the Lucknow Development Authority decides to sell. The JPNIC holds historical significance for the Samajwadi Party as it is connected to its founder, Netaji. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak criticized Yadav's tenure as chief minister from 2012 to 2017, accusing it of misdeeds rather than work. BJP leader Anand Dubey commented on Yadav's frequent changes of constituency and residence ahead of elections, noting the construction of the new party office in Azamgarh. Yadav also highlighted the party's confidence following recent electoral successes in the Purvanchal region.
