Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD), under Minister Parvesh Singh Verma, has undertaken an extensive campaign to repair and improve the city's road infrastructure ahead of the monsoon season. On June 24, the department aimed to fill 3,400 potholes within a single day, setting a record for rapid road maintenance. Verma emphasized that the government has been consistently working for the past four months to enhance road conditions and pedestrian facilities across Delhi. Inspections were conducted at various locations including CR Park and the Press Enclave in Saket to monitor ongoing repair works. In addition to road repairs, the PWD has addressed flooding concerns by installing new drainage systems at flood-prone areas such as Supreme Court, Mathura Road, Kakanagar, and Bapatnagar. Furthermore, Minister Verma and Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena recently inspected development activities at Sadbhavana Park and drainage work at ITO Mor. Saxena reported that 95% of the Sadbhavana Park project has been completed, with the remaining 5% expected to be finished within a month. A notable feature of the park is the installation of a Domestic Sewage Treatment Plant (DSTP) designed for a small community. Verma highlighted that within two months of the current government’s formation, major waterlogging issues across Delhi have been identified and addressed as part of their infrastructure improvement efforts.
