Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD), led by Minister Parvesh Singh Verma, has launched an intensive campaign to repair potholes across the city ahead of the monsoon season. On June 24, 2025, the department aimed to fill 3,400 potholes in a single day, a record effort to improve road conditions before heavy rains begin. Verma has been actively inspecting ongoing road repair and infrastructure projects, including work at CR Park and the Press Enclave in Saket. Additionally, Verma and Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena inspected development activities at Sadbhavana Park, where 95% of the work has been completed, including the installation of a Domestic Sewage Treatment Plant (DSTP), with the remaining 5% expected to be finished within a month. The PWD is also focusing on monsoon preparedness, with inspections conducted in areas such as Palla and along the Yamuna River. Separately, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra has overseen preparations for the Kanwariyas pilgrimage, including the construction of welcome gates at 17 locations named after the 12 Jyotirlingas and Lord Shiva. The Delhi government has granted permission for 374 Kanwar shivirs this year, more than double the 170 from last year, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta scheduled to personally welcome the Kanwariyas on July 20.
