Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena on Thursday inaugurated “Aarambh,” the capital’s second round-the-clock public library, in Malviya Nagar’s Adchini Village. The facility was developed by the Delhi Development Authority as part of a broader effort to expand community amenities across the city. Saxena said the initiative grew out of a fatal incident in Rajender Nagar, where three students died in a basement earlier this year. In response, the administration decided to convert under-utilised DDA community centres into 24-hour libraries to provide safe, accessible study spaces. Gupta described the opening as “a remarkable beginning” and signalled more such projects aimed at improving educational resources for residents.
