Heavy monsoon rains have caused severe flooding and landslides across multiple regions in Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Rivers such as the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and their tributaries have experienced rising water levels and flood surges, leading to extensive damage in numerous villages, destruction of crops, and displacement of thousands of residents. In response to the escalating flood situation, India has, for the first time since the May 2025 conflict, issued multiple flood warnings to Pakistan via its High Commission in Islamabad, bypassing the suspended Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) mechanisms. These communications, described as humanitarian gestures, warned Pakistan about potential major floods originating from Jammu and the release of water from Indian dams, including the Madhopur dam. Despite the treaty being in abeyance, India has reached out three times within 48 hours through diplomatic channels to share data on incoming floods. Pakistani authorities have issued high-level flood alerts, particularly for the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers, cautioning residents near these rivers to remain vigilant over the next 48 hours. The floodwaters have caused significant infrastructural damage, including submerged settlements in districts such as Bahawalnagar, Kasur, Pakpattan, and Okara, and have severely impacted urban areas like Karachi and Lahore with waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Relief operations are underway in the most affected areas, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Swat, where thousands of homes have been damaged. The situation remains critical as water flow in some rivers has reached extremely high levels, with the Chenab river flow reported at 463,000 cusecs. Authorities continue to monitor the evolving flood conditions amid ongoing heavy rainfall forecasts.

Pakistan has issued a high-flood alert for the Ravi River after India opened up its dam on the upstream. In the Indus Water Treaty, India has got the full water of the Ravi River. Modi says Blood and Water don't flow together; do Blood and Flood flow together?
