Heavy monsoon rains and cloudbursts have caused widespread flooding and devastation across multiple regions in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including districts such as Buner, Swabi, Peshawar, and Bunair. In Buner's village of Bishnoi, floodwaters and debris, including large boulders, have destroyed numerous homes and markets, with the death toll reaching 528 and hundreds injured or missing. Rescue operations continue amid challenges such as blocked roads and lack of heavy machinery, with many victims still trapped under rubble. The floodwaters have also damaged police infrastructure in KP and caused severe flooding in Azad Kashmir's Kotli and Poonch districts, where rivers like the Poonch and Betar have overflowed, washing away houses but with no reported loss of life in some areas. Islamabad and Faisalabad have experienced heavy rainfall, with water levels rising in Rawal Dam. In Punjab, authorities have spent 273 crore rupees on flood preparedness as water levels fluctuate. The floods have also affected Gilgit-Baltistan and caused landslides in Bhimber, cutting off dozens of villages. Environmental experts have raised concerns about deforestation and illegal timber activities exacerbating the flooding's impact. Officials have issued advisories for continued heavy rainfall and potential cloudbursts in Punjab and Karachi, where light drizzles and forecasted rains are expected. The Pakistan Army and local youth are actively engaged in relief efforts in affected areas. Meanwhile, rising water levels in the Yamuna River have led to flooding in parts of Uttar Pradesh, India, including Mathura and Gokul Barrage, where all 21 gates have been opened to manage the situation.
