Notably, women tied rakhis to Border Security Force (BSF) jawans and Indian Army personnel deployed at sensitive border areas such as the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir and integrated check posts in Meghalaya. Delhi Police conducted awareness campaigns by tying rakhis to traffic violators and issuing penalties to promote road safety. The festival also featured tree planting by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and prayers at temples like Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar. The celebrations highlighted the festival's role in fostering unity, cultural heritage, and social harmony across diverse regions of India.
