India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Patna on Wednesday to chair the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state working-committee meeting, a gathering viewed by party leaders as a key preparatory step for the 2025 Bihar Assembly election. Held at Gyan Bhawan, the closed-door session brought together state president Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, several Union ministers and MPs, and delegates from all 38 districts. Leaders said the committee would adopt political, social and economic resolutions highlighting what they described as the achievements of the BJP-led governments in New Delhi and Patna and outlining campaign strategy. Ahead of the meeting, Singh was welcomed at the airport by Union Minister Giriraj Singh and other senior functionaries before being formally felicitated at the venue. Party officials said Singh would use the platform both to energise workers and to criticise the opposition INDI alliance, signalling an escalation in the run-up to the state poll.
