A high-speed collision between a Suzuki Hayabusa superbike and a Zomato delivery motorcycle killed both riders on Nelson Mandela Road in Mysuru, Karnataka, at about 2 a.m. on 6 July. Police identified the deceased as MS Karthik, 42, from Bogadi, and Syed Shaeran, 30, of Chamarajanagar. Closed-circuit television footage shows the Hayabusa striking Karthik’s bike as it travelled along the roadside, throwing him off and killing him instantly. After the impact, the Hayabusa skidded for several metres, hit an electric pole and caught fire, according to initial police findings. Shaeran, who sustained severe head injuries and burns, was taken to KR Hospital and declared dead on arrival. Investigators from the Narasimharaja Traffic Police Station have collected CCTV recordings and registered a case. Eyewitness accounts suggest the superbike was travelling at very high speed and may have been filming stunts, but officials said those claims remain under verification.
