A motorcyclist was killed Thursday evening after striking a concrete barrier and plunging about 30 feet from the westbound Interstate 215 South on-ramp at Union Park Avenue, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Emergency crews from the Highway Patrol, Murray Police Department and local EMS were dispatched at roughly 6:28 p.m. MDT. Responders found the rider below the flyover ramp that connects to westbound I-80; he died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity. The flyover ramp was closed for several hours while investigators documented the scene and cleared debris, with the Utah Department of Transportation estimating full reopening around 10 p.m. Troopers said the rider failed to navigate the curve before hitting the wall, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
