The Indonesian Army's Military Police of Kodam IX/Udayana has named 20 personnel as suspects and detained them in connection with the death of Private Second Class (Prada) Lucky Chepril Saputra Namo, who allegedly died due to abuse by senior soldiers in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Among the suspects is a TNI officer, confirmed by Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana, Head of the Army Information Service. The incident reportedly began during a soldier training activity at the Territorial Development Battalion 834 Waka Nga Mere Nagekeo. The case has prompted a comprehensive evaluation of all operational units within the Indonesian Army, with leadership emphasizing zero tolerance for abusive training practices that harm personnel. The mother of Prada Lucky has publicly pleaded for justice before the Pangdam Udayana commander. The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Budi Gunawan, expressed condolences and assured that the case would be handled transparently and fairly. Additionally, the Army spokesperson indicated the possibility of further suspects emerging. Separately, Kopral Dua Bazarsah was sentenced to death and dismissed from the TNI for the shooting of three police officers in Lampung. The case has drawn calls from House Speaker Puan Maharani for reforms to prevent recurrence of violence between senior and junior military personnel.
