Heavy rains have caused severe flooding and multiple emergencies in Villavicencio, the capital of Meta Department in Colombia. The intense precipitation led to the opening of a crater in the city center and the overflow of three rivers, including the Ocoa River, which inundated more than 18 sectors and affected approximately 3,500 people. Around 700 families lost their homes and belongings, with emergency responders continuing to provide aid. The flooding resulted in one fatality due to a landslide, and six people were rescued by the Colombian Aerospace Force. Local authorities have declared 19 critical points across the city and are actively managing the ongoing situation. Meanwhile, in other regions, the Putumayo Department in Colombia reported over 30,000 people affected by rain-related emergencies. In Indonesia, the city of Mataram in Nusa Tenggara Barat Province experienced devastating floods after an extreme rainfall event dumped 4.2 billion liters of water in under six hours. Floodwaters reached 2.5 meters, prompting the evacuation of dozens of residents, including those in affluent neighborhoods. Additionally, heavy rains accompanied by hailstorms affected Moroleón in Guanajuato, Mexico, while Jakarta, Indonesia, faced urban flooding that damaged vehicles.
