PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) cancelled 48 passenger train services on Saturday, 2 August, after five cars of the Argo Bromo Anggrek express derailed at Pegadenbaru Station in Subang, West Java, the previous evening. KAI said the damaged rolling stock was removed between 23:50 and 07:07 WIB and dispatched about 200 workers to repair the affected track, with normal operations targeted to resume around 10:00 WIB. Services on key corridors linking Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo and Surabaya were among those halted. The state-owned operator apologised for the disruption and offered full fare refunds or rebooking to all affected passengers, adding that safety inspections would continue while regulators investigate the cause of the accident.
