Benni McCarthy has affirmed his full authority over the Harambee Stars squad preparing for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), dismissing any claims of internal discord. The final squad for Kenya's CHAN campaign includes 25 players, with Masud and Felix expected to bolster the team's attacking options. Former players and coaches such as Samwel 'Pamzo' Omollo, Matthew Ottamax, and Musa Otieno have analyzed the squad and emphasized the need for adequate investment in football infrastructure and funding to nurture talent and develop the sport commercially in Kenya. Omollo also encouraged fans to support the team enthusiastically to motivate the players. Meanwhile, FKF officials from Bungoma have called on the government and sponsors to support and improve grassroots women's football.
