The family of Boniface Kariuki has filed a statement at Nairobi's Central Police Station following his death on Monday, calling for a thorough investigation. Separately, Brian Maina, a 28-year-old man from Kirinyaga County, died after being allegedly shot in the head by police during the Gen Z protests in Nairobi on June 25. His family is demanding justice and that the police officer responsible be charged. Brian Maina's funeral is scheduled for Friday in Kaguma, Kirinyaga. In West Pokot, tension remains high after the body of a missing 7-year-old boy was found in a maize plantation following three weeks of disappearance. In response, local residents torched the homes of two families suspected of involvement in the child's death. These incidents have heightened calls for justice and investigations into the deaths connected to recent protests and local violence.
