A Nairobi court has ruled against former nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba in a defamation case brought by Jeremiah Nyegenye, the Clerk of the Senate and Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission. The court found that Orwoba maliciously defamed Nyegenye through social media posts by accusing him of sexual harassment. As a result, Orwoba has been ordered to pay Sh10.5 million in damages to Nyegenye and to issue a public apology within 30 days. Orwoba has announced plans to appeal the court's decision.
