The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is investigating the loss of a department-issued Colt M4 rifle and five loaded 30-round magazines that fell out of a patrol vehicle in South Los Angeles. The incident occurred between 10 and 11 p.m. on Saturday while deputies from the LASD South L.A. station were responding to a call for service. The rifle, along with 150 rounds of ammunition, reportedly fell from the trunk of the cruiser. Deputies confirmed the loss and requested public assistance in locating the weapon. On Monday, a resident of Lennox found the missing rifle and returned it to the LASD.
