On July 3, 2025, the Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (CNTE) organized a 24-hour strike and multiple protests across Mexico City, involving sections 9, 10, 11, and 60. The demonstrations included marches to at least three locations, causing traffic disruptions. CNTE members occupied several government buildings, including the Coordinación Sectorial de Educación Preescolar and the Coordinación General de Recursos Humanos of the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP), demanding the reversal of payroll deductions affecting over 5,000 teachers and the repeal of the ISSSTE law. After approximately five hours of peaceful occupation, authorities agreed to reimburse 10 million pesos in salary deductions and arrange meetings with SEP Secretary Mario Delgado, leading to the release of the facilities. Following the protests, SEP employees called for sanctions against CNTE teachers due to reported aggression during the occupations. On July 7, transport operators from the Asociación de Transportistas Unidos blocked the Mexico-Puebla highway near Chalco, State of Mexico, protesting against frequent cargo thefts and insecurity on the roads. The blockade caused severe traffic disruptions but was lifted later that day. On July 8, health workers in Mexico City affiliated with the IMSS-Bienestar system initiated a hunger strike and staged protests, including a march by the Fuerza Independiente de Trabajadores de la Salud (Fintras) along Paseo de la Reforma and a blockade on the Anillo Periférico. They demanded resolution of labor issues such as payment of overdue wages, opening of job positions, provision of medical supplies, and increased budget. Police encapsulated and reportedly used force against some protesters. Additionally, municipal authorities announced a three-kilometer closure on the Texcoco-Lechería road near Los Héroes 5ª sección due to bridge repairs, expected to last two weeks.
