On July 29, 2025, transport workers in Mexico City organized a march to demand an increase in public transportation fares. The protest began at 2:00 p.m. from San Antonio Abad and proceeded along Calzada de Tlalpan toward the Zócalo, with participants including members of the Fuerza Amplia de Transportistas (FAT) and drivers from 34 to over 35 bus routes. The march aimed to pressure the city government to raise the concessioned public transport tariff. On July 30, 2025, merchants in Mexico City announced a large-scale strike affecting all 16 city boroughs, leading to multiple road blockages and disruptions in key areas, including markets such as La Merced and Jamaica. Blockades occurred at intersections like Fray Servando and Congreso de la Unión in the Venustiano Carranza borough and the lateral lane of Calzada Zaragoza near Tepalcates. The city’s Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC CDMX) implemented a traffic operation in response to the merchants' mobilizations. By late afternoon on July 30, the market vendors lifted the blockades and expressed gratitude toward the Venustiano Carranza borough mayor for her support. These consecutive protests have impacted mobility and traffic flow across Mexico City.
