The security agreement between Mexico and the United States, involving Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and U.S. President Donald Trump, remains unsigned with the date for signing still undecided. The Wall Street Journal has reported that organized crime cartels in Mexico pose a risk to the deal, and the U.S. is prepared to take unilateral military action if Mexico does not meet security expectations. However, President Sheinbaum has dismissed these concerns, stating that the agreement is not at risk. Concurrently, Sheinbaum met with Doug McMillon, CEO of Walmart Inc., who reaffirmed Walmart's investment commitment in Mexico and support for the Plan México initiative. Additionally, Sheinbaum received Stephen A. Schwarzman, CEO of Blackstone, who announced plans to expand investments in Mexico. Canadian Prime Minister Carney is also expected to visit Mexico soon, according to Sheinbaum.
