Mexican Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard has stated that the ambitious fiscal plan introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump will not negatively impact Mexico's economy or its nearshoring advantages. Ebrard emphasized that, compared to other countries, Mexico holds a competitive edge in accessing the U.S. market despite the new fiscal incentives aimed at encouraging companies to relocate production to the United States. Concurrently, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum convened a meeting at Palacio Nacional with around a dozen prominent business leaders, including Carlos Slim Helú, to discuss the progress and acceleration of the "Plan México" economic strategy. The president urged the private sector to reinforce their commitment to productive investment to counteract the effects of global economic slowdown and tariffs impacting the economy. Business leaders expressed optimism about Mexico's economic outlook and agreed to expedite the implementation of Plan México's objectives.
