The Israel Defense Forces said two rockets were launched from the southern Gaza Strip toward the border community of Kissufim at about 20:00 local time on 5 July. Warning sirens sounded in the area before the projectiles crossed into Israeli airspace. According to the military, Israeli Air Force units intercepted both rockets, preventing any casualties or property damage. The IDF attributed the attack to Hamas, which controls the enclave, and said normal activity has since resumed in the surrounding communities.
