Rocket-alert sirens sounded in Sderot and nearby Israeli communities along the Gaza border on 17 July after two projectiles were launched from the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Israel Defense Forces. The military said the Iron Dome air-defence system intercepted both rockets before they reached populated areas. The Israeli Air Force confirmed the interceptions and authorities reported no injuries or property damage. The brief exchange is the latest in a series of sporadic rocket incidents along the frontier, but did not trigger an immediate wider military response.
