The Israeli military has reported multiple aerial threats originating from Yemen and Gaza in early August 2025. On August 1, a missile launched from Yemen triggered air raid sirens in Israel and was intercepted by Israeli defense forces. Subsequently, on August 2 and 3, rockets fired from southern Gaza towards Israeli territory were successfully intercepted with no casualties reported. Additionally, a drone launched from Yemen was detected over southern Israel near Bnei Netzarim and was also intercepted without incident. On August 4, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) again intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen targeting Israeli territory, activating air raid sirens across several regions and prompting the use of aerial defense systems. The public was advised to follow safety guidelines issued by the Home Front Command. Concurrently, in Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes targeted southern Lebanese towns including Khiam, Toulon, and Yaron, with drones dropping bombs and sound grenades. Lebanese media reported that the Lebanese army conducted raids in Baalbek and the Hermel region, using drones to target suspects and killing three top drug lords in Baalbek. The Israeli Air Force stated it was attacking Hezbollah's military infrastructure in southern Lebanon during these operations.
