In the occupied West Bank, a series of violent incidents involving Israeli settlers and Palestinians have escalated in recent weeks. On June 25, during a raid northeast of Ramallah, Israeli settlers, supported by Israeli soldiers, shot dead at least three Palestinians. Following this, settlers deliberately obstructed and attacked ambulances transporting injured Palestinians in the village of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, including pelting an ambulance with stones and breaking its windows. On July 15, Israeli settlers launched a large-scale attack on the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, torching approximately 25 Palestinian-owned vehicles and attempting to set fire to homes. Further violence occurred in the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, where settlers set fire to 12 vehicles, resulting in a fire that threatened nearby homes. During this incident, Khamis Abdul Latif Ayyad, a 40-year-old Palestinian who was visiting from the United States, died from smoke inhalation while trying to extinguish the flames. Additionally, on July 11, Saifullah Musallet, a 20-year-old Palestinian American, was beaten to death by Israeli settlers in Sinjil. On July 29, a well-known Palestinian activist and consultant on an Oscar-winning film, Owdeh Hathaleen, was shot dead by an Israeli settler named Yinon Levi in the West Bank village of Umm al-Khair. Despite the killing, Levi has been released, and the Israeli military has imposed restrictions on Hathaleen's funeral while refusing to release his body. The Palestinian Authority has condemned these attacks, and the Israeli police have opened investigations, including one into the homicide of Hathaleen, though no confirmation of murder has been made by Israeli authorities.
