Paramount Pictures has green-lit “A Quiet Place Part III” and set a theatrical release date of 9 July 2027, the studio and filmmaker John Krasinski announced. Krasinski will write, direct and produce the next installment in the post-apocalyptic horror series that began in 2018 and spawned a 2021 sequel and the 2024 prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One.” The three previous films have generated more than $900 million in global ticket sales, making the franchise one of Paramount’s most lucrative recent originals. Casting details for Part III have not been disclosed, but the earlier movies starred Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, with Cillian Murphy joining in the second film. Krasinski will produce through his Sunday Night banner alongside Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes, continuing a partnership that has earned multiple award nominations for sound design. Plot specifics remain under wraps, though the story is expected to advance the survivors’ battle against sound-hunting extraterrestrials first introduced in the original film.
