Director Dan Trachtenberg said during a San Diego Comic-Con panel that an extended cut of the animated film “Predator: Killer of Killers” will be added to Hulu and Disney+ at 7 p.m. Pacific Time on July 25. The R-rated anthology, which debuted on the platforms on June 6, follows warriors from different eras battling the Yautja hunters. The new epilogue brings back franchise icons Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover), marking their first on-screen appearances in the series in more than 30 years. The pair are shown in cryogenic captivity alongside Naru, the protagonist of Trachtenberg’s 2022 film “Prey.” Trachtenberg said he obtained Schwarzenegger’s personal approval to use his likeness. The director indicated the scene is designed to set up future installments, including his live-action sequel “Predator: Badlands,” which 20th Century Studios plans to release in theaters on Nov. 7. The surprise addition underscores Disney’s strategy of weaving legacy characters into new Predator projects to sustain momentum for the 37-year-old franchise.
