Indie songwriter Mac DeMarco will release a new studio album, “Guitar,” on 22 August through his own Mac’s Record Label. The Canadian artist wrote, recorded and produced the 12-track record in November 2024 at his Los Angeles home, turning to veteran engineer David Ives only for mastering duties. DeMarco previewed the project on 24 June with the soft-toned single “Home,” accompanied by a self-directed video filmed near his mother’s house in British Columbia. The album follows his 2023 instrumental LP “Five Easy Hot Dogs” and the 199-track compilation “One Wayne G.” To promote the release, DeMarco has added a 2026 leg to his current tour. The new dates begin in February with shows in Japan and Hong Kong, then move to arenas and theaters across the United States from May. Tickets for the 2026 concerts go on sale 27 June, while most of his 2025 North American and European dates are already sold out.
