David Byrne has released “She Explains Things to Me,” the second preview of his forthcoming solo album, “Who Is the Sky?,” scheduled for release on 5 September through Matador Records. The contemplative track, inspired by Rebecca Solnit’s essay collection “Men Explain Things to Me,” follows last month’s lead single “Everybody Laughs.” “Who Is the Sky?” is Byrne’s first solo studio set since 2018’s “American Utopia” and was produced by Kid Harpoon, whose recent credits include Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles. The 12-song record features contributions from St. Vincent, Paramore’s Hayley Williams and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner. Byrne plans to support the album with an international tour beginning shortly after the release and running into March 2026.
