Google Debuts Pixel 10 With On-Device AI, Live Voice Translation
Google unveiled its Pixel 10 smartphone series on 20 August, highlighting a set of new on-device artificial-intelligence functions powered by the company’s Tensor G5 chip and Gemini Nano model. The headline feature, Magic Cue, analyzes what is on the screen and pulls information from apps such as Gmail, Calendar and Messages to surface real-time suggestions—ranging from restaurant reservation details during a call to quick replies with flight data extracted from email. The phones also introduce Voice Translate, which performs two-way, real-time translation during calls while mimicking each speaker’s voice. At launch, the tool supports English, Spanish, German, Japanese, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian and Indonesian and runs entirely on the device to preserve privacy. For photography, a Visual Overlays mode lets the camera app highlight objects in the frame and provide guidance before the shutter is pressed, while an AI-enabled Camera Coach offers framing advice. Additional updates include a ‘Take a Message’ voicemail substitute and expanded AI writing tools in Gboard. Google said the Pixel 10 will go on sale in markets including Mexico—its first official entry there—positioning the device ahead of Apple’s expected iPhone 17 reveal next month. Pricing and availability details were not disclosed during the presentation.

Even if you speak only un poquito🤏 Spanish, don’t worry Voice Translate on #Pixel10 can now instantly translate, entirely on-device, what each caller says using the sound of their voice, so conversations in different languages feel more authentic & stay private¹🗣️ https://t.co/Of5SyfJjxA
