Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and All-Pro return specialist KaVontae Turpin was arrested in the Dallas suburb of Allen late Saturday and booked into the Collin County Jail on two misdemeanor counts: possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to court and police records. An incident report says officers stopped Turpin’s 2022 Dodge at about 11:40 p.m. after clocking it at 97 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone on U.S. Highway 75. Police said an unholstered 9-millimeter pistol was in plain view on the back seat, and a small quantity of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle’s center console. Turpin, 28, posted a total bond of $1,500 and was released Sunday morning. The Cowboys have not commented, and the NFL is expected to review the matter under its Personal Conduct Policy with training camp set to open 22 July. Turpin signed a three-year, $18 million extension in March after leading the league in kick-return average last season and earning his second Pro Bowl berth.
