The NFL preseason game between the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons was suspended on August 9, 2025, following a serious injury to Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris Jr. Norris suffered an apparent head and neck injury while attempting to tackle Falcons player Nathan Carter with approximately 14 minutes and 50 seconds remaining in the game. He was attended to on the field for about 20 minutes before being taken off in an ambulance. The game ended early with 6 minutes and 31 seconds left on the clock after players allowed the clock to run out. Norris was hospitalized but later shared on social media that he was "all good" and expressed gratitude for the support he received. Reports confirmed that Norris was in stable condition and entered concussion protocol. Two days after the incident, Norris surprised teammates by returning to the team's headquarters and training facility, where he will be gradually eased back into play following the preseason scare.
